Associate Trainees
The opportunity
Are you close to the final stages of your law studies and looking to start a traineeship in November 2024, February 2025 or May 2025? With us you can experience a traineeship where you will first work across multiple practice groups and later specialise in one or two. Apply for our Associate Trainee programme and spread your wings with Bird & Bird!
The firm
Bird & Bird opens up a world of possible for aspiring trainees. Join us and you will be part of a leading, international law firm, working on formative matters for household name brands, while being trusted, supported and respected for your contribution – even when you’re just starting out.
What you'll do
Our Associate Trainee programmes consist of an intensive 5-6-month period. As a full-time Associate Trainee, you will assist the firm’s lawyers in diverse and challenging assignments. Your duties will include work similar to what our newly graduated lawyers do, for example drafting legal documentation and collecting information regarding a wide variety of issues. With our deep legal and industry-focused knowledge and inclusive culture, this programme offers you a great opportunity to test your wings in practicing business law.
Try before you decide
Choosing your specialty, your very own field of expertise, is an important choice. Here at Bird & Bird our Associate Trainee programme starts with a 3-month general period, during which you can work in all our practice groups. You’ll get hands-on experience in different areas of business law and time to explore everything an attorney’s office has to offer.
At a later stage of your traineeship, you will be given an opportunity to work more closely with one or two practice groups. You will be supported by your trainee colleagues and an assigned lawyer tutor throughout your traineeship.
About you
Apply, if you are ambitious, enthusiastic and burn for learning more in collaboration with your team! For you to get the best out of your traineeship with us, you should be close to finalising your law studies (with approximately 200 credits by the start of the programme), have eagerness to learn and genuine interest in business law. Due to the nature of the assignments, we require fluency in both Finnish and English.
In this round, you can apply for traineeships starting in November 2024 (4.11.2024-2.5.2025), February 2025 (3.2.-30.6.2025) and May 2025 (5.5.-31.10.2025).
You will get to work with great colleagues in a flexible working environment. You will work in an international and diverse surrounding where everyone is appreciated as they are – we like to see you being you. Our culture of approachability fosters a supportive and professional working environment. During your time with us, we’re committed to your growth and invite you to actively participate in our internal professional development trainings and social events. Our employment benefits promote your well-being. Monthly salary for this traineeship is 3.300€ plus lunch benefit.
